Interaction Design Lab
Design research exploring emerging technologies, digital infrastructures, and alternative tech.
About
At the Interaction Design Lab we research through design. We explore the role of emerging technologies in everyday life while searching for alternatives to systems and solutions shaped by the digital industry. We approach technology as a material: working with data, coding, and building electronic systems to create interactive installations and functioning prototypes. At the same time, we move beyond the screen and treat interaction design in an expanded sense—as something embodied, spatial, relational, and situated in lived experience.
Our approach combines design and technological skills with experimental research methods. We work with technology, through technology, and in critical relation to technology—treating design as both a tool for inquiry and a way of materializing ideas. The studio develops interactive objects and prototypes that are tested in real contexts and through direct engagement with users and environments. Projects emerging from the studio aim not only to propose new forms and experiences, but also to provoke reflection and offer deeper insight into diverse areas of human activity, from digital culture and media infrastructures to social behaviour and everyday rituals.
